Artist Statement
Our relationship to the natural world is a consistent theme in my work. Whether, looking at a small seed or a magnificent horse – there is a sense of wonderment. For within everything, upon examination, there exists evidence of a greater order.
In our busy multi-media culture, the subtle most meaningful notes get drowned out. My use of charcoal, high realism, and over-sized scale is intended to draw the viewer to the importance of the image… then into a deeper contemplation of its true nature and spirit.
Each drawing holds a power for contemplation of the forces of their genesis, purpose, and significance. Within these insights there lies an appreciation and a joy of a deeper connection to the natural world.
